What is a DVN in LayerZero?
Decentralized Verifier Network. LayerZero's configurable signing set: messages require attestation from a chosen DVN configuration. Each application picks its own set, made up of required DVNs that must all verify and optional DVNs of which a chosen threshold must also verify. A 1-of-1 setup is only as strong as its single DVN, which is the configuration KelpDAO ran in April 2026, and a required DVN that goes offline halts message delivery.
TradFi equivalentThe panel of counterparties that must confirm an instruction before it is acted on. Every required confirmer must sign off, so a set of one is only as strong as that one party, and a required confirmer that goes silent stalls the instruction.
